4th of July 2010

We've had a long weekend of 4th of July celebrations. On Saturday we went to Pella to watch the Pella Motors yellow & black Camaro (aka Bumble Bee) in the parade. Monte drove it and Marcus & Mackenzie rode along. Miles and I stood along the route and watched the parade. On Sunday night, we sat out on our back porch and watched the fireworks. We ended up getting rained on a bit, but it was warm enough to stay comfortable. Today, all 5 of us rode in the Pella Motors pace car in our Sully parade. The kids had a great time. Pella Motors brought a TON of candy along, so much so that we made a 2nd trip around and dumped out what was left. Everyone had a BLAST!! They couldn't have been more thrilled to think the parade was over, only to see huge amounts of candy still being thrown out. After the parade Monte worked at the Lions Club serving lunch. They served hamburgers, hotdogs, & brisket sandwiches. The kids and I played a few games, put on by the local preschool. They didn't even mind when it started to rain as we were finishing up. Then we headed home. Everyone is happy and tired. We hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July!!
